MARTA is transforming Five Points Station into a vibrant city center with improved transit connectivity, increased safety, and enhanced customer amenities. The first phase of the project is the deconstruction of the concrete canopy.

During construction:

  • Most buses will continue to stop at Five Points on Forsyth Street but will terminate at other nearby stations

  • Access Five Points on Forsyth or Peachtree Street entrances. Peachtree Street and the federal tunnel for employees will close on October 13th. Station entrances at Alabama Street and Broad Street Plaza closed June 6, 2025.

  • Rail service and transfers are unchanged

  • Station services have temporarily relocated

  • Elevators remain open for access and transfers

Service Impacts



DOWNTOWN BUS SERVICE IMPACTS BEGAN MAY 17, 2025

  • The following bus routes stop at Five Points on Forsyth Street:

    • 3- Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Auburn Avenue

    • 21- Memorial Drive

    • 40- Peachtree Street/Downtown

    • 55- Jonesboro Road

    • 107- Glenwood

    • 186- Rainbow Road Drive/South DeKalb

    • 813- Atlanta University Center

  • The following bus routes are detoured to maintain service to Downtown and no longer stop at Five Points:

    • 26- Marietta Street/Perry Boulevard

    • 42- Pryor Road

    • 816- North Highland Avenue

  • The following bus routes terminate at Georgia State Station:

    • 21- Memorial Drive

    • 42- Pryor Road

    • 49- McDonough Boulevard

    • 55- Jonesboro Road

    • 107- Glenwood

    • 186- Rainbow Road Drive/South DeKalb

  • The following bus routes terminate at King Memorial Station:

    • 26- Marietta Street/Perry Boulevard

    • 813- Atlanta University Center

    • 899- Old Fourth Ward

  • The following bus route terminates at Civic Center Station:

    • 816- North Highland Avenue

IMPACTS ON STATION SERVICES BEGAN FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2025:

  • The following offices closed and relocated on Friday, June 6, 2025:

    • Lost & Found

      • By appointment only. Call 404-848-3208 or email lostandfound@itsmarta.com.

    • Reduced Fare

      • Visit the Reduced Fare office at MARTA headquarters at 2424 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. (across from Lindbergh Center Station)

    • RideStore

      • RideStore available at Airport and Sandy Springs Stations

    • MARTA Police precinct

      • Police officers will continue to patrol Five Points Station. The precinct will relocate to Ashby.

    • MARTA HOPE

      • Open at Five Points until the Peachtree entrance closes

All the above customer service offices will eventually relocate to Ashby for project duration. Ashby offices opening date to be announced. Follow MARTA channels and signage for more details in coming weeks.

  • The restrooms closed on Friday, June 6, 2025. Please use nearby stations for restroom access:

    • GWCC/CNN Center (Westbound): “SMART” restrooms with remote access

    • Peachtree Center (Northbound): Restrooms available on north concourse level

    • Georgia State (Eastbound): Restrooms available on lower concourse level

    • West End (Southbound): Restrooms available on lower concourse level



RAIL SERVICE

Rail service and rail transfers are unchanged. Elevators remain open on the concourse and platform levels.



CONCOURSE CONSTRUCTION BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 15, 2025

Starting Monday, September 15, 2025, construction will begin inside the station on the concourse level. During this time, crews will put up scaffolding and overhead protection to prepare for taking down the concrete canopy. For about five weeks, certain escalators and stairs will be closed while this work is done. All elevators will stay open. 

It’s possible that the way you normally reach your platform will change. Please follow the signs in the station to find your way. Pardon our progress as we make way for a safer, more connected, and customer friendly Five Points.

PEACHTREE STREET ENTRANCE CLOSURE BEGINNING OCTOBER 13, 2025

Starting Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, the Peachtree Street entrance at Five Points Station and the federal tunnel for employees will close for construction. Customers must use Forsyth Street to enter or exit Five Points. The Forsyth Street entrance will be the only entrance and exit for Five Points. Alabama Street and Broad Street Plaza entrances remain closed. Follow signs on the platform and concourse levels for directions to trains and/or bus service. Rail service and transfers are unchanged, and elevators remain open for access and transfers.
